Being your loved one’s caregiver is no easy task. In fact, it is impossible for most people that have full time jobs and other responsibilities like childcare. ComfortCare Homes provides a simple solution to this problem – adult day care. Adult day care is an affordable alternative to care at home and many seniors actually prefer it.
Individualized care at home has been shown to work quite well for people who have been diagnosed with dementia, including Alzheimer’s. However, individualized care at home is often very expensive and many people look into alternatives that could work out better for them.
ComfortCare Homes Adult Day Care services are top of the line and tailored to the needs of seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s. All of our adult day care goers receive individualized care and react very well to the socialization they receive.
Our adult day care services are available every Monday through Friday every week during normal business hours. They were designed as a respite care service to allow you to go to work, run errands or take care of other responsibilities while knowing your loved one is being looked properly cared for and is staying safe.
Seniors who attend our adult day care receive assistance with the task of day-to-day living in a supervised and safe environment. We have several homes that provide adult day care and they do differ in terms of features, but the services we provide are the same across the board.
In adult day care, your loved one will participate in the following:
Social activities: While this includes interaction with caregivers, your loved one will also participate in planned activities designed for people with dementia. Often these activities revolve around strengthening memory or finding ways to make your loved one less anxious and more relaxed.
Meals and snacks: We provide all of our adult day care participant with healthy, nutritious and well-balanced meals and snacks. If your loved one has any dietary restrictions we can work with that and make sure they are staying safe and eating healthy.
Personal care: This aspect of care includes any toileting, grooming or eating help your loved one may need throughout their time spent with us.
Depending on the needs of the Adult Day Care Resident, we have 2 levels of service available. Like a long-term care Resident living with us, services depend on if the individual requires the assistance of one or more Caregivers to meet their activities of daily living.
Depending on how much respite you need, you can choose to have your loved one stay with us for either a half day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours). To find out more about the adult day care services we offer and how they differ from care at home, do not hesitate to give us a call at (316) 444-0532.
