Traditional Memory Care:

Wichita Long Term Memory Care

The Memory Care Homes

Traditional Memory Care is ComfortCare Homes of Wichita’s concept of care for Residents who require 24-hour supervision and assistance for most activities of daily living but do not require skilled nursing care. It’s similar to the types of services provided in a traditional assisted living facility or nursing home. In most cases, the CareGiver/Resident ratio at a ComfortCare Home is 1:6 or better. The actual patient/staff ratio depends on the House and the acuity and needs of the Residents. All Homes are staffed 24 hours a day with licensed and/or certified staff. All Wichita ComfortCare Homes are licensed through the State of Kansas, just like a nursing home. Our licensing is for residential care, or “home plus”.View The Homes Gallery

Quality of Life at a ComfortCare Homes of Wichita Traditional Residence

Wichita Memory Care Home for Alzheimer's, DementiaWe offer personalized care for Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and other memory impairments. Our CareGivers provide assistance with bathing, medication management, incontinence care, emotional support, and more. Shared rooms are available for couples or Residents who do better with a roommate. Our Residents enjoy all the comforts of home: visits on the patio in the spring, home cooked meals, planting a garden in the summer, and being safely tucked into bed at night. We encourage families to decorate Residents’ rooms with personal, meaningful items to help the space feel familiar and inviting. Residents enjoy lunch and dinner family-style, gathered around small tables, just like at home. Breakfast is enjoyed at the Residents’ normal waking time. While institutional memory care facilities call themselves “home-like”, a ComfortCare Home® truly is a home.

Each Memory Care  Home Features:

  • Back porches, patios, and enclosed yards, so Residents can enjoy the outdoors.
  • A warm, inviting front porch, just like any other home in the neighborhood.
  • A different configuration of both private and shared rooms, just like in a typical house.
  • Lawn care and landscaping services keep the yards looking as beautiful as the Homes.
  • Living room and family room for Residents and family guests to visit, read, relax, or catch an afternoon nap.
  • Quiet, cozy spaces for relaxing and enjoying the views outside.
  • Redirecting stations with sensory items to help Residents deal with agitation and anxiety.

Life Enrichment Activities

Activities at ComfortCare Homes happen all day, every day, and are adapted for each Resident’s reality and skill level. Examples include music programs, task and sensory boxes, and versions of activities that interested them from their past.

Testimonials

I cannot say enough good things about Maurita & Susan (CareGivers) at 219.  They are always caring & cheerful & positive.  They have gone out of their way (I feel above & beyond) to help my aunt adjust to her new home.  They call me at the first sign of any concerns or changes in my aunt.  They treat her as part of their family.  I am very grateful every day that my aunt is in their care.  It is comforting to know she is where she belongs.  I feel like they are a great team!
